“True neighborhood dive bar. Walked into this dimly lit, bustling restaurant/bar (out of the heat), and was immediately greeted by Alice in Chains on the radio (nice one!) and some friendly patrons who welcomed me in (they didn't even seem to work there). Sat near the back (where there's a dart board and some standing room), and ordered the Tavern Burger, and some Deviled eggs (or the "devil's eggs" as I like to call them). Service was swift, the tequila was acceptable, and they even carried Yuengling (a staple where I grew up, in the northeast). The gourmet style burger was incredible and the devil's eggs were that of a Michelin restaurant. Honestly the only better ones I've had in Austin have been at Jeffrey's. Seems like a relatively new bar, but the vibe was that of a craft kitchen owned by some friends who like to hang out at dive bars. Overall, was a really fun experience, and I'd definitely go back!”

"before the opening of Bar Gimmicks you may have thought you’d experienced the pinnacle of hospitality and cuisine within a 5-10 mile radius of the Domain/ Q2 stadium. you’d have been WRONG. Gimmicks has redefined what it means to be a pillar of the community and i can say that i would have never truly been capable of experiencing true love in my heart and mind if not for walking through those doors. Thank you Bar Gimmicks, and God bless you. Kid-friendliness: bring your entire family and establish traditions that will be carried on for generations to come, this establishment will change the trajectory of your entire bloodline for the better."

"Wow!! This place is worth a visit. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and great prices!! I highly recommend the deviled eggs and the burgers! You can't go wrong with this place. They place some fantastic music, as well! Thanks, Gimmicks, for a wonderful experience! I will definitely be back."

“I popped in mid-stroll to check it out on my day in the office. The space seems well-used compared to its previous life as a weekday-only lunch spot - I can see this becoming a good third place from breakfast through after hours drinks. The staff were great, and are familiar with the (my) neighborhood, which is very appealing; I hope to visit often!”
